This is absolutely a desert island episode. And I'll admit, when I learned it was on the pre-IWTB DVD, I got a little more excited, because I realized it was going to be a Scully-centric movie. (Which, in fact, it was. Kind of. IDK. Don't make me have a conversation about that movie.)
The other thing that floors me is that GILLIAN ANDERSON IS LIKE TWENTY-FIVE. And she's got such amazing range in this episode, and such tight control over the character of Scully (which, as we all know, is absolutely nothing like her own personality). It's just a brilliant bit of acting, and I'm so impressed with it, especially for someone so early in her career.)
