So, I decided there should be an X-Files community on Dreamwidth.  Here it is.  TA DAH.

Things we could use:

• Posts.  Anybody want to talk about some X-Files?
• A Layout With Graphics.  I am total and complete fail about that, but if anyone else wants to take a crack at it, that would be great.
• Members.  Let folks know we're here! 
• A Democratic Process For Determining Community Rules And Principles.  This should come at some point once we have members, and after open beta, I think.

Yay X-Files :)

I used to be in X-Files fandom way back (8 years ago or so?), but in the German part. Then I went to other fandoms and now I am re-watching and writing a few drabbles/ficlets and find that I am very confused as to where I can even post these things or discuss random thoughts. So this is great!

If you're still posting fic on LJ, the comm xfilesfanfic seems to be where people put it. I think there are also some drabble-specific comms but I don't know them, since I have never been able to keep myself to a hundred words on any subject ever. Ever. EVER.

BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD POST THINGS HERE! JUST BECAUSE!

Heh, it's not like I can't post at both places :) So far, I have only written a couple of drabbles/ficlets, but I'll soon have an a bit longer piece to post.

This may be a really stupid question, but why don't you at least upload an icon to the Community User Info? The Black and White default isn't terribly attractive but sooner or later someone will arrive who will help us out with a better option. In the meanwhile, we must make do with what we have. A black and white icon would be pretty.

Good idea; I had no idea what to pick, and my personal icon choices are, I think, highly idiosyncratic. I uploaded the sheep, because I had it, but I can probably find something better. I'm thinking of, at some point, bothering leucocrystal to see if she'd be up for it...since she understands the relevant things. Or so I gather, from how well-designed her LJ layout is.

Yes, she might be able to do it. Well, what do you know? It worked in comments. I still couldn't get this to work in my journal. Here are some I had saved at Photobucket. Edited to add two more from my journal. If you use them, let me know, I'll tell you who to credit.

Hee! I am pretty obsessed with icons. These are just the ones I have on Photobucket. I have pages and pages of them saved to my hard drive.
